Baumgartner Center for Dance
Milwaukee Ballet opened its doors to a state-of-the-art, 52,000-square-foot facility in September 2019. Our new home was conceived as a gathering place for dancers and dance lovers alike; one that will allow us to grow and better serve the community we have proudly been a part of for more than five decades.
Located in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward along Lake Michigan, Baumgartner Center for Dance houses our administrative offices, rehearsal and training facilities for our Company and Second Company, and serves as the downtown branch of our School & Academy.
Rehearsal Studios
Baumgartner Center for Dance is home to the rehearsal studios of the Artists of Milwaukee Ballet Company and Milwaukee Ballet II Second Company. Additionally, it is the primary branch for Milwaukee Ballet School & Academy. Serving as the Downtown branch for our Children and Student Divisions, it is also home to our Academy and Pre-Professional Divisions.
Our Journey
As our Company and School & Academy continued to grow, it became more apparent that we needed a bigger facility to fully serve the needs of our students, artists and the community we call home. We began to imagine a building with the increased space and technological upgrades to take our organization to the next level.
With the support of lead donors Donna and Donald Baumgartner, we set forth to create a new space to better serve dancers and dance lovers across the city, the region, and the world. Through hard work, detailed planning and perseverance, this vision became the Baumgartner Center for Dance.
