Michael Pink is the longest-serving artistic director in Milwaukee Ballet history. Since joining the Company in December of 2002, he has established himself as a prominent member of the Milwaukee arts community, demonstrating his commitment to the future of dance through new work, education, and collaboration.

Pink is known internationally for his theatrical productions, including Dracula, Esmeralda, Swan Lake, Giselle, The Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Romeo & Juliet, La Bohème, Don Quixote, Mirror Mirror, Dorian Gray, and Beauty and the Beast, which have been hailed as “Classical Ballet for the 21st Century.” His production of Peter Pan signified a major landmark in the Company’s history and was broadcast nationally by PBS in 2014. 

Pink trained as a classical dancer at The Royal Ballet School and danced with English National Ballet. He was the founding director of Ballet Central in London and the associate artistic director of Northern Ballet in England.

Philip Feeney studied composition with Robin Holloway and Hugh Wood at the University of Cambridge, and with Franco Donatoni at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome.

He has composed extensively for dance, collaborating with many choreographers, including William Louther, Christopher Gable, Michael Pink, Didy Veldman, Derek Williams, David Nixon, Adam Cooper, and Sara Matthews. His works have been performed by dance companies as diverse as Northern Ballet, Rambert Dance Company, Cullberg Ballet, Boston Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, and Scottish Dance Theatre, in addition to more than 50 works for Ballet Central, where he has been composer-in-residence for 25 years.

His long-standing association with Michael Pink began in 1987 with Memoire Imaginaire. Over a span of 30 years, they have assembled an impressive catalogue of full-length narrative ballets, from the celebrated Dracula and Esmeralda (originally created for Northern Ballet), to the landmark works produced for Milwaukee Ballet: Peter Pan (2010), Mirror Mirror (2014), Dorian Gray (2016), and Beauty and the Beast (2018).

Todd Edward Ivins is elated to return to Milwaukee Ballet, having previously designed scenery for Beauty & the Beast and scenery and costumes for both Dorian Gray and Mirror Mirror. He has also worked with Michael Pink on many musicals and A Christmas Carol at Milwaukee Repertory Theater. Ivins loves telling stories through design and enjoys creating worlds for performed stories.

At Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Ivins has designed 14 shows, including Othello, Cabaret (scenery and costumes), West Side Story, Dreamgirls, The Color Purple, Ragtime, A Christmas Carol, Junk, Next to Normal, Of Mice and Men, and Assassins (scenery). Career highlights include The Illusionists Turn of the Century on Broadway, Circus 1903, and one of the first regional productions of Les Misérables.

Ivins designs scenery, costumes, and projections. His work spans dance, opera, plays, musicals, stand-up comedy, corporate events, and newsrooms, ranging from intimate events to arenas. David Grill is a thirteen-time Emmy Award Nominee and five-time Primetime Emmy Award winner for Outstanding Lighting Direction for the Super Bowl 54 Halftime Show featuring Jennifer Lopez and Shakira, Super Bowl 51 Halftime Show featuring Lady Gaga, Super Bowl 49 Halftime Show featuring Katy Perry, Super Bowl 47 Halftime Show featuring Beyoncé, and the Opening Ceremony Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games.  He also won two Telly Awards for Lighting – in 2016 for the Opening Ceremony for the Invictus Games and in 2015 for the Opening Ceremony of the Caribbean Games. Broadway Musical and Dance credits include Bob Fosse’s Dancin’, The American Dance Machine, works for Milwaukee Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, Colorado Ballet, Ballet Met, Houston Ballet, Kansas City Ballet, Northern Ballet Theatre, Cincinnati Ballet, Royal Winnipeg Ballet, and numerous choreographers.  Television credits include The Drew Barrymore Show, The New York Philharmonic, both the 2021 and 2022 Heisman Trophy Presentation for ESPN, The Republican National Convention 2016, The Invictus Games Orlando 2016, The Special Olympic World Games Los Angeles 2015, and The Pan American Games Guadalajara 2011.  He also provides Lighting Direction for the National Memorial Day Concert and July Fourth Concert on PBS and for over 17 Super Bowl Halftime Shows.  Architectural projects include the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Museum, and the Florida Museum of Natural History’s Hall of Florida Fossils.  Mr. Grill has been featured in numerous publications and is an Associate Professor and Co-Chair of the Design/Technology Program at Purchase College, State University of New York.
