Alexander Koulos is the middle of three brothers, all of whom are performing artists. He hails from Sydney, Australia from a Greek/Australian heritage. Starting school in 2006 at The McDonald College of Performing Arts, he was exposed to various forms of dance including jazz, contemporary and ballet. He successfully competed in several individual and group school eisteddfods in New South Wales, representing his school in ballet and contemporary dance, after which he competed in the Youth America Grand Prix competition in 2016. He reached the finals in New York in April 2017, where he received and took up offers to attend short term programs and summer intensive programs with leading ballet schools around the world, one of those being the Houston Ballet Academy. He moved to the USA and began his training there in January 2018, completing the Pre-Professional Program in June 2020. After auditioning, Koulos successfully gained a scholarship as a Trainee with the Joffrey Ballet Academy in Chicago, which he completed in June 2021.  

Koulos joined Milwaukee Ballet II in 2021 and has performed alongside the Company in several of Michael Pink’s productions, including Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Peter Pan. He was promoted to the Company in 2023. and has since performed in Dracula, The Nutcracker, and Cinderella in addition to several contemporary works.

Koulos is a qualified personal trainer with NASM, and in his spare time he loves to compose music, sing and play the guitar and piano, and is an accomplished home cook. He is also pursuing a bachelor’s degree in health science and working on creating a business of his own.
