Milwaukee Ballet Announces 2026/27 Company Promotions

Milwaukee Ballet Artistic Director Michael Pink has unveiled the Company roster for the 2026/27 Season, highlighted by two well-deserved promotions.

Leading Artist

Company member Garrett Glassman has been promoted to Leading Artist after joining our Milwaukee Ballet II program in 2012 and becoming a Company Artist in 2014. Audiences may recognize him in roles such as Drosselmeyer in The Nutcracker: Drosselmeyer’s Imaginarium and Quasimodo in Michael Pink’s Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Acaju Samael Chavez Gastelum
Artist

Acaju Samael Chavez Gastelum has been promoted to Company Artist after two years with Milwaukee Ballet II. This year, he had the honor of joining the Genesis International Choreographic Competition and performing alongside the Company in productions including The Nutcracker: Drosselmeyer's Imaginarium and Mark Godden’s Carmen.

2026/27 Season: Beautiful Illusions

Our 2026/27 Season, Beautiful Illusions, explores the space between fantasy and reality, and the truths hidden just beyond the surface. The Company will return to the studio in September to begin rehearsals for Michael Pink’s Mirror Mirror, running November 6 through 8 at Marcus Performing Arts Center. The season continues with a holiday favorite, The Nutcracker: Drosselmeyer's Imaginarium, followed by our mixed contemporary production of MKE MIX: Art Moves, Michael Pink's critically acclaimed Dorian Gray, and the enchanting adventure of Bruce Wells' A Midsummer Night's Dream.
