Summer Intensive Student Life

Student Housing

2026 Summer Intensive housing is located on the Milwaukee School of Engineering campus in the Hermann Viets Tower at 1121 N Milwaukee Street in downtown Milwaukee. Students registered to reside in housing will be assigned a dorm room with one roommate. Roommate details and contact information is not shared in advance of students' move-in date:

  • 5-week Pre-Professional Program students move in to Viets Tower on Saturday, June 27, 1:00-4:00pm.
  • 3-week Intermediate Program students move in to Viets Tower on Saturday, July 11, 1:00-4:00pm.

A mandatory orientation meeting for all students (housing and non-housing), is held at 5:00pm following each move in date. This meeting is held on the Milwaukee School of Engineering campus:

  • 5-week Pre-Professional Program orientation meeting: Saturday, June 27 at 5:00pm.
  • 3-week Intermediate Program orientation meeting: Saturday, July 11 at 5:00pm.

Please review these welcome packets for the programs and for students who plan to reside in program housing.

 

Sending and Receiving Mail for Housing Students

Please send all mail and packages to Milwaukee Ballet's Baumgartner Center for Dance studios in Downtown Milwaukee. The Milwaukee School of Engineering cannot accept packages for Summer Intensive students on campus or at the residence halls. Mail and packages for housing students will be brought to students residing at the MSOE residence halls every weekday.

Class Schedules

Weekly Summer Intensive Schedules will become available starting in June. Please review all pages carefully to understand the full schedule as students/Tech levels may move studios throughout the day.

Following schedules are posted here each Wednesday the week prior. For example, the Week 2 schedule will be posted on Wednesday during Week 1, and so on.

Excursions

Optional weekend excursions are open to all students attending the 2026 Summer Intensive Program at Milwaukee Ballet. Details for each excursion are listed below, and registration is now available online. Details subject to change.

Please note that each excursion has a unique sign-up deadline. Refunds are not available for excursions as group tickets must be ordered in advance.

Fourth Of July Whitefish Bay Parade & Celebration | Saturday, July 4

Departure: 10:30 am from MSOE Viets Tower

Return: Depart Klode Park at 2:30 pm, arrive at MSOE around 3:00 pm

Cost: $16 covers the cost of bus transportation

Enjoy a lively patriotic parade followed by family-friendly festivities, including carnival games, fair food, rides, and live music at Klode Park. Wear red, white, and blue!

Noah's Ark Waterpark | Sunday, July 5

Departure: 8:00 am from MSOE Viets Tower, arrive at Noah’s Ark around 10:30 am

Return: Depart Noah’s Ark at 5:00 pm, arrive at MSOE around 7:30 pm

Cost: $106 includes admission, bus transportation, and on-site lunch

WHAT TO BRING: Personal spending money (optional), plenty of sunscreen, a towel, and a dry change of clothes for the ride home

Noah’s Ark is located in Wisconsin Dells and is America’s Largest Waterpark. They have dozens of water slides and tube slides, wave pools, raft rides, mini-golf, and more!

The bus ride is about 2½ hours long. Resident Assistants will take each student’s lunch order prior to the trip. Coin lockers are available for rent to keep money, shoes, etc. safe at Noah’s Ark.

The bus will return to MSOE campus after the dining hall closes. Students will be responsible for dinner on their own.

Mitchell Park Domes, Public Market, & Milwaukee Art Museum | Saturday, July 11

Departure: 10:15 am from MSOE Viets Tower, arrive at Mitchell Park Domes around 10:30 am

Return: Depart Milwaukee Art Museum at 4:45 pm, arrive at MSOE around 5:00 pm

Cost: $48 includes both museum admissions and bus transportation

WHAT TO BRING: Personal spending money for food and shopping

Mitchell Park Domes Horticultural Conservatory is one of Milwaukee’s most notable attractions, featuring three striking glass domes filled with diverse botanical displays from around the world. After visiting the Domes, students will purchase their own lunch at the iconic, multi-vendor Milwaukee Public Market before heading to the Milwaukee Art Museum, a stunning lakeside destination known for its breathtaking architecture and world-class art collections. This excursion celebrates Milwaukee’s most Insta-worthy spots!

Atwater Beach | Sunday, July 12

Departure: 12:00pm from MSOE Viets Tower

Return: Depart the beach at 2:30pm, arrive at MSOE around 2:45pm

Cost: $15 covers the cost of bus transportation

Join us for a relaxing beach day at Atwater Beach in Shorewood, WI. This beloved Milwaukee spot is known for its sandy shoreline and scenic Lake Michigan views!

Six Flags Great America | Saturday, July 18

Departure: 9:15 am from MSOE Viets Tower, arrive at Six Flags Great America around 10:15 am

Return: Depart Six Flags Great America at 6:00 pm, arrive at MSOE around 7:00 pm

Cost: $126 includes admission and bus transportation

What To Bring: Personal spending money for food and shopping

The Midwest’s premier theme park features more than 40 rides (including 12 roller coasters), a water park, spectacular shows, and a variety of attractions. Students will be responsible for purchasing their own lunch at Six Flags. Wear your Summer Intensive t-shirt, good walking shoes, and plenty of sunscreen!

The bus will return to MSOE campus after the dining hall closes. Students will be responsible for dinner on their own.

Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Game | Sunday, July 26

Departure: 12:00 pm from MSOE Viets Tower, game begins at 1:10 pm

Return: Depart American Family Field at the end of the game, approximately 4:00 pm

Cost: $65 includes admission and bus transportation

What To Bring: Personal spending money for food and shopping

The baseball game between the Milwaukee Brewers and the Colorado Rockies will start at 1:10 pm. The game is played rain or shine with the assistance of American Family Field’s (formerly Miller Park) retractable roof. Wear your Summer Intensive t-shirt!
